A few days ago, we hosted the exciting Women in Mobility panel discussion on the topic of “Diversity as a success factor for sustainable mobility”. We discussed why diversity is much more than just a trend – it is the key to future-proof mobility.
Key learnings:
– Focusing on similarities, being open to one another and continuously changing perspectives are crucial for mutual understanding and inclusive solutions.
Interdisciplinary teams create solutions that include people in all their diversity – from grannies with walkers to children and cyclists. However, it is not possible to represent all perspectives in a team, which is why it is important to involve users as early as possible.
The focus should be on people – designing infrastructure, mobility platforms, offers and services for everyone to enable participation.
– App development – Diversity in the team leads to better products for a broader user base.
Urban planning and design – Intermodal mobility and barrier-free design must be experienced and experienced by everyone.
The positive examples from other cities were also exciting: the songs composed especially for each station in Tokyo or the footpath guidance system in New York, the introduction of which was preceded by tests with users. It’s worth thinking outside the box –
Many thanks to our inspiring panelists:

And of course a big thank you to Klaus Krückemeyer for the wonderful moderation! Thanks also to Julian Schwarze and the colleagues from the WiM Hub Frankfurt Jenny Junghanns-Moll, Katharina Haub and Marie-Theres Wölki for organizing the event together.
