The Offenbach-based association VAIR has been awarded the main prize of the GFB Future Prize October 2024 for its concept of an inclusive sports and cultural park under the Kaiserlei motorway bridge, worth €25,000! The jury of the “Großer Frankfurter Bogen” (GFB), the initiative of the state of Hesse for housing and urban development, sees “the potential to create great added value for the surrounding area” in the transformation of the brownfield site into a sports and cultural park. In addition, the project could provide valuable insights into how similar places or “residual areas” could be transformed in the sense of designing a city and neighborhoods worth living in.
VAIRPLAY was created by the association VAIR in collaboration with Kai Vöckler, Professor of Urban Design at the HfG Offenbach, and students. Together they developed a concept and created four designs.
