Rethinking Bike Parking

24/02/2025

In the “WHEEL|STOP: Rethinking Bike Parking” course in the winter semester 2025/25, students worked on designing innovative and user-friendly solutions for bicycle parking facilities in public spaces. The aim was to design smart, multifunctional, comprehensible and environmentally friendly parking facilities that meet both the individual needs of cyclists and the requirements of the public space. The students were asked to consider various aspects of design such as materials, production, ergonomics, environmental compatibility and functionality. This gave the students the opportunity to expand their practical design skills and critically examine the challenges in public spaces. In addition to the design aspect, the focus was also on integration into existing urban structures and consideration of ecological and social aspects.

The resulting designs have now been presented.
