Dr. Andreas Blitz

Andreas Blitz is a sociologist (human geography) and research associate at the HfG Offenbach University of Art and Design. After his studies, he worked in the field of geography at the Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, where he was a research associate in the working group on mobility research. He received his doctorate in 2021 with his dissertation on the empirical analysis of the effect of the design of urban spaces on individual mobility behavior. Since 2022, he has been working as a traffic planner for the city of Offenbach am Main in the BMBF-funded project “Designing the municipal mobility system (InterMoDe)”. Together with other colleagues, he has launched the “Immersity Lab” project funded by the Hessian Ministry of Digitalization and Innovation. In the interdisciplinary project team, his core competencies lie in the implementation of quantitative data collection in VR and software-based social science evaluation.
