Our project “InterMoDe – Designing the municipal mobility system” will be extended until August 2026 – the Federal Ministry of Education and Research has approved funding for phase 3. This means we can now continue our successful cooperation with the city of Offenbach.
In the previous phases I and II, we investigated, among other things, the intermodal understanding and everyday use of intermodal mobility services by users and developed a concept for a municipal intermodal mobility system. In the third phase, we are building on these results and focusing on their transfer and consolidation. For example, we plan to further develop the transport system database created in the project into a mobility portal. A future vision for an “intermodal municipal mobility system in Offenbach in 2045” is also being developed with the participation of administration, business, science and civil society. This vision of the future visualizes future mobility and makes it tangible using virtual reality (VR). The follow-up project thus builds on the positive experience of the VR Lab, in which participants were able to virtually experience a transfer situation and provide feedback in August 2023. In addition, the concepts developed are to be incorporated into planning and implementation projects in the city of Offenbach and at regional level.
