Convercycle

2-in-1 city and cargo bike

The Convercycle Bike is a 2-in-1 bicycle that can be transformed from an ordinary to a cargo bike within seconds. Folded up, it looks like any other bike. Alone the basket surrounding the rear wheel hints that this bike is out of the ordinary. With just one simple movement, the rear wheel of the Convercycle bike can be folded out without any tools. This creates a loading space for luggage behind the saddle (permissible total weight 180 kg). The Convercycle bike thus combines all advantages of a light, compact and nimble city bike with the transport options of a cargo bike. It is thus a unique means of transport that fits perfectly into modern everyday life and offers a completely new flexibility to life in urban spaces.

David Maurer-Laube’s design originated in the “wheel2wheel” course on the topic of “Bike and the City”. The designer has been pursuing development, marketing, production and sales through his own startup as well as a Kickstarter and Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign.
